Mogadishu Shipping & Cargo LLC is a freight forwarding and logistics company registered in Somalia, with its office at Port Road, Hamar Weyne District, Mogadishu. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean that company.
What we collect
We only ask for what we need to quote for a shipment, move it, and clear it through customs. That usually means:
- Your name, company name, email address and phone number.
- The origin, destination and description of your cargo.
- Commercial documents such as invoices, packing lists and bills of lading.
- Identity or licence documents where customs law requires them.
- Basic technical information from your browser, such as which pages you visited.
Why we use it
- To prepare a quote and reply to your questions.
- To book space with carriers and arrange transport.
- To make customs declarations, which the law requires us to do accurately.
- To invoice you and keep proper accounting records.
- To send you shipment updates and, if you asked for it, our monthly rates email.
Who we share it with
Freight cannot move without sharing some details. We pass on only what is necessary, and only to:
- Shipping lines, airlines, trucking companies and port operators handling your cargo.
- Our partner agents in the country of origin.
- Somali customs and other government authorities, where required by law.
- Insurers, if you asked us to arrange cargo insurance.
We do not sell your information to anyone, and we do not pass it to advertisers.
How long we keep it
Shipment and customs records are kept for the period required by Somali commercial and tax law. Quote requests that do not turn into bookings are deleted after two years. You can ask us to remove your details from our mailing list at any time.
Keeping it safe
Access to customer records is limited to staff who need it for their work. Our systems are password protected and our website uses an encrypted connection. No system is perfect, so if a problem ever affects your data we will tell you.
Your rights
You may ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct anything that is wrong, or ask us to delete anything we are not legally required to keep. Write to info@mogadishushipping.com and we will reply within one working week.
